Hello my droogs. I hope that whatever part of the world you’re currently in is rather nice. It’s foggy and cold here.
My last post (on Saturday) suggested what this post was going to be about. If you didn’t get what I was on about then this picture should give you the answer:
You’ve guessed it – I’ve been taking photos of wildlife (namely a Brown Goshawk). This little bugger had been terrorising the chickens and was undoubtedly looking for a meal. I hadn’t seen one around for a few years so I know that they’re not all that common compared to the ‘usual’ raptors that are around (namely a pair of Peregrin Falcons and a few Common Kestrels). Sadly one of the older chickens died on Friday night from the cold, so I put two and two together and set up a photo-trap. The chicken carcass (which wasn’t of any use to anyone anymore) was placed out in the open, and I put my D5000 (set to take a photo every 10 seconds with a telephoto lens) in a spot where there were a few trees. It didn’t take all that long before our friend here was chomping away at the chicken, and I’ve got about 200 good shots of a bird that most people never see. Pretty cool!
The weekend was also spent taking some photos from a moving vehicle (I wasn’t driving, so that’s a good thing), and heading out to different spots here in Uralla to look for some snappy locations.

Hopefully my Nikon FE turns up today so I can take some photos with it. Fingers crossed!
